What to do if the Status does not come Online?
If the Status in your GateKeeper Hub Manager does not come Online right away, let’s check a couple of things.
Enabling TCP/IP Protocol for SQL Server
If the SQL Server is not on the same computer as the GateKeeper Hub server, then you may need to enable the TCP/IP communication with the SQL Server.
Log in to the computer with the SQL Server and from the Start Menu, open Computer Management. Expand Services and Applications, expand SQL Server Configuration Manager, expand SQL Server Network Configuration, and click Protocols for SQLEXPRESS (or whatever the name of your SQL Server is). On the right side of the window, right-click on TCP/IP under Protocol Name and Enable it.
Enabling SQL Server Authentication
On the GateKeeper Hub Configuration Manager, if you have connected to the SQL Server using Windows Authentication the application will display whether SQL Server Authentication is enabled for the currently used Windows credentials. If the Status is Enabled, you do not need to do anything.
But, if the Status is Not Enabled, click Enable to turn on the SQL Server Authentication.
A notification will pop up asking you to restart the SQL Server.
To restart the SQL Server, go back to Computer Management. Expand Services and Applications, then expand further on SQL Server Configuration Manager, click SQL Server Services. On the right side of the window, right-click SQL Server with the correct instance name in brackets and Restart it.
Now, if you go back to the GateKeeper Hub Configuration Manager the Server Status should be Online. Please click the Launch GateKeeper Hub button on the IIS Setup page.
Manually restarting GateKeeper Hub website in IIS Manager
If the sever status still says Offline, open IIS Manager on your computer by going to the Start menu, click All Programs -> Accessories -> Run. Then type ‘inetmgr.exe’ in the Run box text field and click OK.
Navigate to the GateKeeper.Hub website on the left-most tab. Click the ‘Restart’ link on the right-most tab.
Wait 10 seconds to verify that the server status on the GateKeeper Hub manager is Online.
Troubleshooting in GateKeeper Hub Manager
For on-premise GateKeeper Hub only. The troubleshooting page allows you to run automated tests on the GateKeeper Hub installation. The automatic tests validate various prerequisites, SQL Server connection, IIS setup, and other aspects of the GateKeeper Hub server and report on any errors that may be present.
How to run the GateKeeper Hub Manager Troubleshooter
1. Please log in to the computer hosting the GateKeeper Hub.
2. In the Windows search field, type GateKeeper Hub Manager to launch the application.
3. Click Troubleshoot, then click Run to start the troubleshooting diagnosis. It will check all possible points of error and report results.
