Real-Time Location of Tokens Feature
In the GateKeeper Hub admin console, the Scans page maintains records about how far/near a GateKeeper token was to a Client computer, displays the username associated with the token, and the time when it sensed the token.
Each GateKeeper USB proximity sensor serves as a beacon to scan for GateKeeper tokens present around it and reports its findings. The log records can be filtered by computer, user, credential, and dates - useful for audit purposes and investigating incidents.
Real-time scans section allows IT admins to:
|Real-time scans||All terminals running GateKeeper Client constantly scan for GateKeeper keys approx. every 10 seconds and report details to the GateKeeper Hub. To stop collecting the data, toggle the switch to 'NO'.|
|Client audit logs||The GateKeeper Client on computers keep track of all access events such as Session Lock, Session Unlock, Session Count, Session Time, and report details to the GateKeeper Hub. We recommend keeping this enabled as the data is useful for audit purposes.|
|Server audit logs||GateKeeper Hub auto-tracks and records all changes such as newly created policies and settings updates to GateKeeper users or computers. We recommend keeping it enabled as the data is useful for audit purposes.|
To access the Audit Information, follow the directions below.
1. Log in to your GateKeeper Hub admin console.
2. Click the Administration button icon in the upper-right corner.
3. Click Hub Administration to expand option.
4. Scroll down to the Hub Features section. Switch on Real-time scans, Client audit logs, Server audit logs, and Reports to collect information.
These scans can be used to identify where a GateKeeper user is at any given time. The Scans database can grow quite quickly if you have a large number of users and computers. You can choose to disable collecting scans by choosing the appropriate option in the Audit Information section of the Administration page.
