What is RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)?
RBAC stands for Role-Based Access Control, and it is a method of managing and controlling access to resources within a system or organization. RBAC is a widely used approach in computer security and access management, allowing administrators to define and manage user permissions in a structured and efficient manner.
What are Sites in the GateKeeper?
Sites in GateKeeper refer to compartmentalization of computers, users and other data for specific sub-units of an organization. Data in a site can only be accessed by team members who have been granted permissions to manage the particular site.
Who needs it?
If you have GateKeeper users and computers distributed over multiple locations or business units, and you would like to assign the ability to manage the users and computers to specific people at these sites, you can create team members in the GateKeeper Hub and assign them privileges to access the data for one or more sites. Global Access team members can manage every site and all the data contained in each.
How does it work?
When the Global Access Administrator adds a new team member, it is mandatory to select at least one site the user belongs to. So that every team member will have a role. Plus, when you assign to the Site, you will only see Groups, Computers, and Users on the same Site.
Based on the Role, it has limited access to what users can do in the Hub.
