Inactivity Lock Method in GateKeeper explained.

Inactivity Lock Method will lock the computer if the user is inactive for the specified time. Use Lock Workstation if you are the only user, and, Disconnect Session if multiple people use this computer.

Use Lock Workstation or Disconnection Session to lock the computer without dissrupting the workflow.  Use Logout, if you want to logout the user out of the computer.

If there is no typing or mouse movement for this time, the computer will lock.
