Changing a password from the Passwords section in the GateKeeper Client app does not update it in Active Directory (AD). This action only updates the password stored in the GateKeeper user profile.
To properly update a password in AD, use the Change AD Password option under the Tools section. This method securely transmits the new password through the local credentials manager to the domain controller and confirms success or failure.
This process does not require the AD Connector to be installed. It functions similarly to the Change Password feature accessed via Ctrl+Alt+Del on the Windows login screen. The only requirement is that the computer must be connected to the domain controller.
How to change the AD password from the GateKeeper Client application.
Requirements:
- The computer should not be in Kiosk Mode.
1. Click here.
2. Double-click "GateKeeper".
3. Click "Tools".
4. Click "Change Password".
5. There should be a "Change AD Password" pop-up on the right bottom side.
6. Type the "New Password" and "Confirm New Password" fields, then click "Change Password".
You're all done!
