GateKeeper Enterprise supports four types of authenticators for computer logins. They are:
- Bluetooth Tokens
- NFC/RFID Cards
- Email with OTP code
- Fingerprint (limited to specific fingerprint reader models)
What are these authenticators?
Bluetooth Tokens: GateKeeper Proximity Bluetooth key fobs and GateKeeper Trident app for smartphones are valid Bluetooth authenticators that work with the GateKeeper system.
NFC Cards: NFC MIFARE cards can be added as authenticators for access to computers.
Email with OTP: GateKeeper users can use their email address and an OTP code from their authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.) to login to computers.
Fingerprint: Specific fingerprint readers from HID Global may be used to scan the user's pre-registered fingerprint for computer login.
How to enable the authenticators?
GateKeeper Hub administrators can choose to enable one or more of the valid authenticators for their GateKeeper-enabled computers. The authenticator types can be chosen on the GateKeeper Hub by clicking the GLOBAL SETTINGS button on the Groups & Settings.
How to set the default authentication mechanism?
GateKeeper Hub administrators can either set the default authentication mechanism globally, or choose to set different authentication mechanisms for each Group. If you want to set the same default authentication mechanism for your entire GateKeeper network, choose the appropriate value of the GLOBAL AUTHENTICATION METHOD on the Global Settings page.
