Near-field communication (NFC) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) cards can be used as authenticators in the GateKeeper Enterprise platform. This feature allows users to scan their NFC/RFID cards on approved NFC/RFID readers to authenticate onto their computers.
The GateKeeper Client application must be updated to 3.13.29 or a later version to enable NFC/RFID card authentication.

Valid Cards:
Currently, NFC (13.56Mhz) cards from the MIFARE Classic family (1k and 4k cards) and RFID (125khz) can be used as valid GateKeeper authenticators.
Card Readers:
USB NFC/RFID readers that support the Microsoft Windows Chip Card Interface Device (CCID) protocol can be used as NFC/RFID readers with the GateKeeper Client application. We recommend the following NFC/RFID readers for use with GateKeeper:
- NFC: ACR122U

How to register an NFC/RFID card for a GateKeeper user?
Unlike Bluetooth tokens, cards cannot be added directly via the GateKeeper Hub since they need to be scanned individually to get the card ID and other information. In order to add a new GateKeeper User to the system with an NFC/RFID card as the authenticator, the administrator will have to use the GateKeeper User Onboarding utility.
The GateKeeper User Onboarding utility for NFC/RFID cards can be downloaded from the Downloads page on your GateKeeper Hub website.
- Navigate to your GateKeeper Hub website and log in.
- Navigate to the Downloads page.
- Download the GateKeeper User Onboarding (NFC/RFID) Cards utility.
