Why does GateKeeper take longer to load at computer startup?

GateKeeper operates as a Windows service. After a system reboot, Windows initializes core and third-party services in sequence, which typically requires up to 30 seconds and may take longer on older hardware. The GateKeeper credential provider becomes available only after the GateKeeper service has completed initialization. Once loaded, the GateKeeper login tile and PIN entry field will appear on the Windows sign-in screen. At this point, authentication through GateKeeper is fully functional. After initialization, all proximity-based locking and unlocking events occur in real time, as the service remains active in the background.
