Single sign-on (SSO) is an authentication mechanism wherein a user has a single set of credentials (username and password) that gains them access to multiple, independent systems/software.
Although GateKeeper is not a single sign-on software, it mimics a similar function as SSO with no additional steps using "cascading login". Just like a single set of credentials can log you into other websites (SSO), a single GateKeeper credential (your token) can automatically log you into your computer and then your websites (cascading). A user gains access to multiple credentials that can be used to access other systems/software, but ONLY if said user logs in to their computer using a single, permissible credential. If the user logs in with any other credential or any other means, the other systems' credentials will simply not be available. Either all credentials are available, or none. Currently, an SSO feature is under development by Untethered Labs.
