Yes, GateKeeper Proximity provides APIs for GateKeeper Client and GateKeeper Hub for technology partners interested in integrating the proximity authentication and other features into their own applications. This article summarizes the key features of the client and server APIs. For getting access to the APIs, detailed documentation, and sample projects, please contact us at support@gkaccess.com.
GateKeeper Client API:
There is a REST API and a C# DLL available for integration with the GateKeeper Client application. These APIs provide information regarding GateKeeper users currently connected to the computer, presence of tokens nearby, lock and unlock decisions, and other features of the client application. A sample project showcasing the API is available on request, along with detailed REST API documentation.
The client API can be used by developers to build integrations that authenticate users into their own applications. For example, if a developer wants to launch and log in users into an application every time GateKeeper unlocks the computer, you can do so by using the API to detect unlock events and identify the currently logged in user, and the token they have used. These applications can also be locked or logged out of whenever the user leaves the proximity of the computer by subscribing to the Lock Events generated by the GateKeeper client through the C# or REST API.
GateKeeper Hub Server API:
The GateKeeper Hub server application also includes a REST API for accessing various features of the Hub. Technology partners can use this API to integrate the Hub with their own user management platforms, auditing solutions, and others.
Developers can use the Hub API to assign tokens to new users, add them to the GateKeeper Enterprise platform, and do this via their own new user on-boarding application. For example, a web form can be built for HR employees who are responsible for new employee enrollment into an organization. This form can be built to assign a GateKeeper token to the new employee, and assign them to groups and computers built on the GateKeeper Enterprise platform so that they can start using their GateKeeper tokens immediately to access their computers.
How to access the GateKeeper REST API documentation: *You MUST have an active GateKeeper Enterprise subscription to view this information.
3. Click the REST API Docs tab. Then, click the final link to access the endpoints. Done!
For any additional questions or concerns regarding locking, logging off, proximity settings, credential management, or compliance, please contact GateKeeper Enterprise support using the Support Ticket form on https://gkaccess.com/support/ or email support@gkaccess.com. Lock or log off automatically when you're away from your computer.
