What is a Halberd Token?

Halberd tokens are physical devices used for strong authentication into a system. Halberd tokens are generally used in secure environments. 

Halberd tokens are small electronic key fobs that allow users to login into a system without typing passwords. The halberd token communicates wireless signals that are received by a sensor to allow predetermined authentication commands (lock and unlock) to occur based on presence + potentially other factors. In the case of computers, websites, and software, halberd tokens such as GateKeeper allow for a passwordless authentication mechanism - saving the user much time and hassle.

GateKeeper Proximity is a halberd token for computers, websites, and software passwords. The halberd token authenticates users and logs them on instantly based on the proximity of the GateKeeper token to the workstation (PC/Mac). When the user and token move out of range, GateKeeper automatically locks the computer, thereby preventing unauthorized access and potential internal data breaches.

GateKeeper for enterprise also includes additional features including authorization control for all computers on the network through a central management server, as well as comprehensive auditing for compliance requirements.
