How to Troubleshoot the GateKeeper Client Service Not Starting.
When the GateKeeper Service is not starting from your computer, please follow the instructions below:
Before we begin, please click Refresh and see if the GateKeeper Service starts.
1. Restart the computer and update to the latest version.
Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve temporary service conflicts or Windows startup issues that prevent the GateKeeper service from launching. After restarting, check if the GateKeeper service is running, verify that you can log in to the computer, and ensure the GateKeeper Client application is updated to the latest version.

2. Log in to the computer using your Windows credentials and use the command prompt to restart the GateKeeper Service.
After logging in to the computer using Windows credentials, let's verify that the GateKeeper service is not running.
1. Open the Task Manager > Click Services.
2. Verify the status of both services are running.

How to restart the GateKeeper.Services.Windows.exe
1. Open the Command Prompt as an Administrator and run this script
sc start GateKeeper.Bootstrap.Windows.exe
sc start GateKeeper.Service.Windows.exe2. If the first command returns an error like service does not exist, run the following command to create the service.
sc create GateKeeper.Bootstrap.Windows.exe binPath=”C:\Program Files (x86)\Untethered Labs\GateKeeper Client\GateKeeper.Bootstrap.Windows.exe”
sc start GateKeeper.Bootstrap.Windows.exe
sc start GateKeeper.Service.Windows.exe
3. Fresh Install
If the service still fails to start, perform a clean reinstall of the GateKeeper Client:
- Uninstall the GateKeeper Client via Control Panel.
- Open a file explorer window and go to this path
C:/ProgramData- Delete the entire GateKeeper folder.
- Reinstall the GateKeeper Client from the Customer Portal or directly from the Hub.

4. Check the Windows Event Viewer and Contact GateKeeper Support.
If the GateKeeper Service will not start, please contact us to set up a call with our support, and please include the Windows Event Viewer Log.
1. Open the Event Viewer.
2. Click Windows Logs > System
3. Find the Error: GateKeeper.Service.Windows.exe services terminated unexpectedly.
